Nathan Baker is from the Red Cross in Nashville, Tennessee. His presentation is both informative and entertaining. Hopefully, he made you consider the importance of giving blood. Discuss what aspects of the presentation you found interesting and/or useful.
I've given blood twice. Once here at school and once at church. I thought that when he showed us the blood bag and explainde how it was separated into three separate bags was kinda helpful. It shows me where my blood is going and what it's going to do for other people.
ReplyDeletethat not just your blood type can affect who gets your blood your plasma and white blood cells help too. i don't give blood mostly i never really liked getting my blood drawn but now i sorta want to know how many people are help by it.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I found interesting about the presentation was the fact that one person can save up to three people. That is something that I didn't know before the presentation. Many things about in the presentation was useful. Like the knowledge that the used needles are destroyed so some junkie don't go dumpster diving and find him an needle to shoot his heroine through.
ReplyDeleteI thought that the most entertaining part of his presentation was when he told us that plasma was like the color of our skin. And also he kept me entertained by not just speaking about blood or the red cross. During is Presentation he also through jokes in with it and made it a lot more interesting.
ReplyDeleteto be honest, i didn't find any of the information useful, or interesting.
ReplyDeletei was surprised that bloodletting and transfusions were so old. i thought that at least transfusions were a newer thing. and it was new info to me that the red cross is who to call to contact family in the military

ReplyDeleteHe stated that giving blood can save up to three lives. This can be very important. I also liked how he explained each of the blood cells and told us what there job was. He also gave us many situations in which blood would be needed. I would like to know that there is blood if I ever need it or someone else needs it in an emergency. It was also interesting when he explained the blood types. I didn't know that much about blood but thanks to him I know a lot now. I now believe that it is important to give blood when given the chance.
ReplyDeletei found it interesting that one person could save 3 lives and it was good that he joked around so people didnt get bored
ReplyDeleteThe presentation was slow yet very appealing the guy was kinda funny and he made sense to me. He informed everyone on how to find out their blood type the easy way and that is important to how your future visits to the hospital.
ReplyDeletei think the most entertaining part was when he tried to joke with us and talk to us like adults. he also brought a board with big pictures of the things he was talking about.
ReplyDeleteI found it useful that giving blood can save three lives. Nathan Baker was an interesting guest speaker with plenty of corny jokes. I thought it to be useful to give into letting them prick me if i can save three other peoples lives.
ReplyDeletewell he kept everybody entertained by not just talking about blood...He had a lot of useful information. I've given blood once about hit the floor on the bus later but as long as I'm helping somebody i don't mind giving blood again.
ReplyDeletei thought the guy kept us entertained with his jokes and all the info about blood was pretty good and i didnt no that they separated the blood out. his presentation was good and he provided a lot of info about blood
ReplyDeletei thought in was interesting that they keep up with how much blood you donate. i did not know that they separate the plasma and the platelets from each other the way they did. i also didn't know how much blood was in the body.i like the fact that they tell you your blood type when you get your blood donated.
ReplyDeletei thought the presentation was very interesting. i thought it was very informational and kinda made me want to give blood. I think saving lives is good to participate in, i didnt however know how much blood was in the body. This makes me want to go find my blood type and give blood as son as possible.
ReplyDeleteI thought that it was neat that the bags could separate our white and red blood cells so that if somebody needs one or the other they could get them. Also that there was 10-12 pints of blood in our body. i didnt know we had that much
ReplyDeletei didnt know the blood was seperated. that was helpful
ReplyDeleteA few thing I found interesting about his presentation was the fact that one person can save up to three peoples lives. Also that they send off there used needles to be destroyed so that junkies or anyone wont be able to get there hands on them and harm themselves or others.
ReplyDeletei believe he did a very well convincing people to give blood. he gave a lot of good facts that would make you feel good about it. i didnt know u could separate blood and i found it very interesting.
ReplyDeleteim alittle late on this blog so maybe i can still get credit? of some?
ReplyDeleteive given blood twice. even if you dont like needles and seeing blood the feeling you get after giving blood is amazing knowing youve helped someone out without having to do anything but lay on a comfy bed and drink a sprite and eat some crackers. the only thing i think i learned from the speaker was maybe some bad jokes. but he tried so gotta give him credit
i find it interesting that when you give blood you can save up to 3 lives with just your blood. Also i think that it is neat that he has gave blood so many times, i think he said he was the 2 most giver in the area. I found his presentation to be very interesting.
